Mila’s passion for children began long before Mila-Ma. Coming from a long line of educators, she has spent much of her life teaching and nurturing young children. A mother of two, she brings a parent’s perspective and a deep respect for the influence caring adults have on a child’s earliest years.
Her vision comes from a simple but powerful belief: children are actively building their understanding of the world and of themselves. Every conversation, shared activity, and small discovery is an opportunity to support that understanding with warmth and encouragement.
Since 2019, Mila-Ma has brought that vision to life in Holiday Lake Estates, Morgan Hill. Here, infants and children through age five find thoughtful learning experiences, meals prepared from scratch, inviting surroundings, and the close relationships of a small family daycare. Mila’s attention to those details gives the place its character.

Mila shapes the educational program with children’s curiosity at its center. Her ongoing research into child development informs activities that invite children to explore, create, move, and connect. Gardening, art, stories, and hands-on discovery turn everyday interests into opportunities to learn.

She prepares meals from scratch with organic ingredients and bakes a cake for each child’s birthday. Food becomes part of the familiar rhythm, generosity, and celebration that make Mila-Ma feel like home.

The title is founder. The relationship is personal. Children know Mila as Baba, a familiar presence in the meals, activities, and small moments that shape their day.
Her approach gives children room to be themselves while learning to be part of a community. Close supervision, shared play, and gentle encouragement support friendships, independence, and a positive sense of self.
Gardening brings her love of the natural world into their discoveries. Birthdays and holidays become occasions to celebrate each child. And through the photographs she shares, families stay connected to the life their little ones are building here.

Family support & administration
Mila’s daughter, Lida, helps keep the practical side of daycare running smoothly. She supports families with rates, contracts, paperwork, and questions, offering a familiar point of contact along the way.
Lida also shares the family’s love of gardening and houseplant care, another connection to the natural world that is part of Mila-Ma’s story.
Stephanie speaks fluent Spanish and uses English and Spanish with the children, including selected activities and songs in Spanish.
Michelle speaks fluent Spanish and uses English and Spanish with the children, including selected activities and songs in Spanish.
